Lower Cresswell is a Georgian farm set in 36 acres of beautiful pastures, and ancient woodland, with Herdwick sheep, Welsh and Saddleback pigs, goats, and a range of chickens and waterfowl. From the camping paddock you have breathtaking views stretching over the Carmarthenshire countryside. with regular sightings of red kites and other birds of prey, so why not sit back, chill out and relax until nightfall when the true magic begins and let the Astronomer in you find your favourite constellations, watch shooting stars to make a wish upon whilst toasting marshmallows on your campfire. The camping paddock is situated next to the big Dutch barn which dates back to the 1950s with the Big Barn is the heart of the campsite and houses all the facilities, hot showers, sinks and honesty shop. The site is Located close to the Township of Laugharne on the estuary of the river Taf, made famous by the poet Dylan Thomas, you can explore his favourite walks and marvel at the grandeur of Laugharne castle, also the recent filming location for the BBC Tv series 'Keeping Faith' Laugharne is ever popular with new visitors. Being situated on the Pembrokeshire boarder you can explore and enjoy the best of West Wales and return each day to the peaceful tranquility of this small site. If you looking for a busy campsite with lots to do, where you can play music and possibly disturb others then this site is not for you, as people chose to return year after year for a relaxed quiet stay as no amplified music is permitted. West Wales boasts a number of excellent beaches, the closest beach is Pendine Sands a 7 mile long stretch of beautiful sand and is only 10 minutes away by car along with both the very popular Tenby and Barafundle bay not much further along the coast with a number of other lovely beaches in-between.
