Upon arrival , to check in please call 07702-308876 or come to the farm house.
We are always grateful if you can give us a rough idea of what time you think you will be arriving.
On your day of departure, we ask that you vacate by 11:00.
Please contact us directly for last minute bookings for camping to confirm availability.
We request full payment when booking.
Receipt of the payment secures your booking.
If the booking is cancelled 21 days / 3 weeks prior to arrival no refunds are given.
If you are concerned about the prospect of cancelling please take out suitable holiday insurance.
Bookings are not transferable to another family.
All refunds are subject to a banking admin fee.
The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable. .
Big Barn Camping reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice if we are unable to provide a safe environment, due to the following:-
extreme weather conditions,
owners, ill health,
fire,
flooding
any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control.
In theses circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you.
All refunds are subject to a banking admin fee.
Big Barn Camping cannot accept any financial liability or responsibility for any loss including consequential losses caused by cancellation. As such we advise that suitable holiday insurance is in place.
Some situations and activities may be unfamiliar to you. We will provide advice whenever requested.
You confirm that:
- By making use of Big Barn Camping facilities you accept you are undertaking out-door activities in a natural environment in which all risk cannot be “managed out”and you agree to take responsibility for your own Health and Safety and that of your group jointly and also to ensure responsible and prudent behavior at all times to prevent accidents.
- Either you have obtained adequate insurance cover appropriate to the activities you may be undertaking, or that after consideration you have decided you do not wish to do so.
- You accept you will be using the facilities as provided at your own risk. Our facilities are maintained in good working order and we will accept no liability for accidents or injuries howsoever caused.
- If you are aware of any defect of the facilities you must inform the Manager immediately in person or by telephone 07702 308876.
- You will secure and insure and take care of all your property and possessions during your stay. We will accept no liability whatsoever for any theft, loss or damage to your property or possessions.
There are many opportunities for play and adventure on the farm. Our aim is for children to have a truly enriching experience of space and freedom. Lower Cresswell is a working farm there are contingent risks to be aware of. We have a variety of animals and farming machinery which may in use.

Supervision of children is essential at all times.
Please be aware of Barbed wire on paddock fencing.
Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times.
Guests choose the campsite and visit time and time again because it is small, family-friendly and for the quiet enjoyment of nature. It’s important that all guests feel relaxed and enjoy a good night’s sleep ready for exploring the fantastic coast and countryside so NO AMPLIFIED MUSIC IS PERMITTED AT ANY TIME and Quiet Time - is from 10pm. as general noise or loud talking can disturb other people therefore be prepared to respect requests from other campers if you are disturbing them. If any camper is disturbing the peace or causing a nuisance they will be given a warning and if the behaviour continues then they may be asked to leave immediately and without a refund.

FIRE SAFETY FOR CAMPING PITCHES -
For Fire Safety motor vehicles other than camper vans cannot park next to tents and need to park in the car park provided which is located outside of the camping felid and is no further than a 2 minuet walk
Please keep your fire pit / barbecue well away from your accommodation and combustible materials
For your own safety, purpose built fire pits are available for camping pitches.
Logs and kindling will be available to buy on site for a small fee, along with matches and firelighters.
Fires outside of these parameters are not permitted
Position your fire pit, barbecue and gas cooking rings away from your tent .
Do not leave any of the above unattended and also think carefully about whether to light a fire if it is windy.
Supervise the fire until it extinguishes naturally, DO NOT pour water on fire pits as this cracks the hot metal.
DO NOT dispose of charred logs into the hedge rows or long grass . please use the metal fire bin in the Big Barn.
Please make sure you leave all barbecues and fires outside even if you think it has gone out. Carbon Monoxide is a deadly, invisible poison.
There are fire buckets located next to each water tap on the camping field.
Please ensure children are supervised at all times.

FIRE SAFETY FOR HIRED UNITS - GLAMPING DOMES AND PODS
For Fire Safety motor vehicles cannot park next to accommodation units and need to park in the car park provided, which is no further than a 2 minuet walk .
Hired Glamping accommodation is provided with a kitchen area and stone fire pit away from the accommodation unit.
Hired Glamping units on site have smoke and carbon carbon monoxide detector alarms, along with fire extinguishers, fire blankets and fire water buckets.
There is only one door in and out of each accommodation unit , this is signposted as Fire Exit, Keep Clear Do not block your exit , leave keys in a door so you can make a quick escape.
Please ensure children are supervised at all times.

Lower Cresswell is a working farm, we currently stock sheep, alpacas, goats, pigs and a variety of hens, ducks and geese.
For our animals safety, animals must be fenced into their own field. Please help us to keep them safe, do not climb on to any fencing or venture into any locked fields.
Dogs are also welcome as we are dog friendly, however they must be kept on leads at all times.
Please do not feed the animals as they may become ill if fed something they are not used to eating and be aware they may bite or cause injury.
You may be lucky enough to get a glimpse of hedgehogs, badgers and foxes at night time, however we request that all food is suitably stored always and do ensure that your tent is fully zipped closed at night time. Please avoid the temptation of feeding the wildlife.
Recycling is a fundamental role for all of us and is a key part of everyones stay on the campsite and a major goal for the Greener Camping Club. Each booking will be given a recycling bucket to sort and deposit waste in the correct recycling bins located at the Big Barn on site.
The following recycling bibs are provided for 99% of rubbish.
Glass & bottles ect. Metal- cans & tins ect Paper, Plastics, Food waist, Nappies and Dog waist.
General waste that cannot be recycled needs to be taken away by the pitch it belongs to.
For Safety the speed limit on site is 5 miles per hour.
Driving on the camping felid is limited to Arrival and Departure ONLY
For pedestrian and Fire Saftey motor vehicles other than camper vans cannot park next to tents and need to park in the car park provided, which is located outside of the camping felid and is no further than a 2 minuet walk.
It is also not permitted to drive back and forth to your accommodation when you come and go during your stay for Child and pedestrian Safety.

As we are a small quiet campsite we only take exclusive (whole site bookings) for large groups, please contact us directly to discuss this.
We have no facilities for the disposal of chemical toilet waste.
