Welcome to Big Barn Camping at Lower Cresswell . We are a small eco friendly campsite with just 10 individual well-separated camping pitches, 3 little barn camping pods and 2 beautiful luxurious glamping tents.
The camping paddock is situated next to the big Dutch barn which dates back to the 1950s. The Big Barn is the heart of the campsite and houses all the facilities, hot showers and honesty shop.
From the camping paddock you have breathtaking views stretching over the Carmarthenshire countryside. We enjoy regular sightings of red kites and other birds of prey, so why not sit back, chill out and relax until nightfall when the true magic begins. Let the Astronomer in you find your favourite constellations, watch shooting stars to make a wish upon whilst toasting marshmallows on your campfire.
Located close to the Township of Laugharne on the estuary of the river Taf, made famous by the poet Dylan Thomas, you can explore his favourite walks and marvel at the grandeur of Laugharne castle. The recent filming location of the BBC Tv series 'Keeping Faith' Laugharne is ever popular with new visitors.
The closest beach is Pendine Sands a 7 mile long stretch of beautiful sand and is only 10 minutes away by car.

The handmade Llittle Barn camping pods are the ideal retreat for a relaxing break away along with two fantastic glamping tents we can offer you a great holiday.
The camping paddock has far reaching views over the beautiful countryside, with big wide skies full of sunshine in the daytime and stars at night and if we have a little rain you can be sure to see a beautiful rainbow.
Part of your fee goes towards planting a tree to off-set against some of your carbon footprint and help Climate change. So far here at Big Barn Camping 350 sapling trees have been planted on the farm since August 2018 which is a step in the right direction to helping Climate change.
Recycling is on everyones agenda so having an active recycling plan is very important. Please do take pride and recycle correctly during your stay using the recycling bins .
Composting toilets use shavings instead of water so save 13 litres against each toilet flush, the ultimate eco friendly water saving toilet. All lights on site are sola so remember to switch that light off.
When showering if you turn the water off while using soap/shower gel and then back on to wash clean you be saving quite a lot of water instead of leaving the shower water running all the time.
